Nestled on a picturesque, 34-acre campus on Harlem Road in Snyder, New York, The Park School of Buffalo has been a leader of progressive education in Western New York for more than a century.

With small class sizes and an average 8:1 student to teacher ratio, Park provides a rigorous academic experience for all of our students. Each student has ample opportunity to experience hands-on learning and receive personal attention from dedicated teachers. From our nurturing prekindergarten (ages 3 and 4) and elementary school (kindergarten through grade 4), to our middle school (grades 5 through 8) and our college preparatory high school (grade 9 through 12) our school culture emphasizes critical thinking, empathy, compassion, social awareness, and a sense of belonging to a tightly knit, multi-age, multicultural community.
We understand the difference between standards and standardization, and value the creativity and individuality that each student brings to our community. Students are engaged by caring faculty members who design rigorous educational experiences that are relevant to their lives. Learners are asked to use their minds to investigate subjects from a variety of perspectives, to think critically and creatively, to collaborate with peers, and to communicate their understanding in authentic ways. Arts and athletics are also central to the Park School experience, with each student provided ample opportunities to discover his or her talents on stage, in the studio, or on our playing fields.

While there is no typical Park student, one of the hallmarks of a Park School education is a sophisticated level of confidence and open-mindedness among our students that is most likely a byproduct of being part of a physically and psychologically safe, supportive, and diverse community of learners. This mindset provides our graduates with a sense of self-efficacy required for success in college and beyond, and an appreciation of communal interconnectedness essential to good citizenship.

Conveniently located in Amherst, most families have less than a fifteen minute commute to Park. Students come from 44 communities in the Buffalo-Niagara region, as well those countries represented by students enrolled in our international program, including China, Korea, Germany, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia. Our community is proudly diverse and comprised of students from a wide range of socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. Growing up in such a diverse community is itself an invaluable element of a Park School education.
