Chris Lauricella became Park's Head of School in 2008. Prior to coming to Park, he was Head of the Upper School at the Brimmer and May School in Chestnut Hill, MA, a position he held for six years.
A native New Yorker raised on Long Island, Chris's career highlights include serving as Dean of Students at the Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY; working at the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where he served as a program administrator; and a 4-year tenure at the National Sports Academy at Lake Placid, NY, where he lived and worked with aspiring Winter Olympic athletes.
Chris holds a Masters Degree in Educational Administration with a focus in Private School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in English Education from the State University of New York at Oneonta. His professional experience spans both public and independent schools and includes administration, conducting educational research, classroom teaching, curriculum development, college counseling, dorm parenting, and coaching.
In addition to serving as Park's Head of School, Chris is on the Board of Directors of Buffalo Prep, a non-profit organization that works to improve the educational landscape for disadvantaged minority students in Western New York by providing academic support and scholarships to attend area private high schools. He is also President of the Board of Trustees of BISSNET, The Buffalo Independent Secondary Schools Network, a unique consortium of 16 private high schools in Western New York whose mission is to better prepare students for the future by providing its unique member schools with opportunities for collaboration, a forum for sharing ideas, and a structure for advocating the values of private education.
