Park's Middle School Supports Compass House at Thanksgiving
On Monday, November 25, the Middle School participated in its annual Turkey Bake for Compass House. Compass House is a local non-profit organization that provides safe shelter for runaway and homeless youth in the area. "It's the only organization of its kind in Erie County, and we are happy to partner with them again," said Middle School Dean of Students, Lisa Conrad.
During the Turkey Bake, middle school students participated in the peeling, cutting, cooking, and mashing potatoes, as well as preparing stuffing, gravy, and packaging the meals. 14 turkey dinners with all the fixings were prepared this year!
Each class was asked to bring in specific items for the dinner, such as pies, potatoes, vegetables, breads, stuffing, and more. Parent volunteers assisted students in the Dining Hall with preparation, and many families prepared turkeys at home for the members of Compass House.
Thank you to all students, parents, faculty, and staff for their support and participation in this annual middle school community service project and tradition.
